Cookie Dough Balls

Now is the time for finals and study period.  Going crazy?  I have the remedy, cookie dough balls, no oven required.

Make this recipe in 5 minutes, when you’re taking a study break from finals, studying, and writing crazy essays.  It will be well worth those five minutes.

I love cookie dough, and I hope you do too, (if not you may need to go to the doctor and make sure you’re alive).  I usually just have a few bites of cookie dough when I’m making cookies.  Sometimes, I’ll whip up a batch of chocolate chip cookies, and I will bake half of the dough.  The other half of the dough will sit in my fridge for a little snack every once and awhile.

This is fine, but there are eggs in the dough.  You could make the same recipe with egg substitute or make this delicious recipe that is made to be eaten raw.

Begin by creaming together the softened butter and the brown and white sugar until fluffy.

Add yogurt/applesauce/peanut butter and vanilla.  The recipe lets you add yogurt, applesauce, or peanut butter. They all act as liquid substitutes for the eggs.  I added peanut butter for an extra kick, but use what you have/want.

Mine looks extra orange because of the peanut butter.

Add flour, baking soda, and salt, and mix until combined.

Add chocolate chips.

The dough should have the same consistency as normal cookie dough.  Form the dough into round balls, and stab with your utensil of choice, fork, popsicle stick.  Put these little dough boys into the freezer, covered with plastic wrap, to cool.

Once they have hardened, after an hour, melt

the extra chocolate chips. I added a little vegetable oil to the chocolate to thin it a tad.  NEVER add water to chocolate, it will not work.

Remove your balls from the freezer, and dip them in the melted chocolate.  Put them back in the freezer to harden again.

Enjoy! Straight from the freezer into your mouth!

Not my best picture, but hopefully the yumminess will make up for it.
